WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
"Our guides Reuben, Marco and Celia were great. They took care of everything. I enjoyed the conversation and learning about their country. I liked the food and think the meals were well rounded. The hotels were clean and accommodating. Good team. I’d book with them again."
SEAN S., DENVER CO
"Awesome leadership, great preparation, outstanding food, a new adventure at every turn and....the contrast from 14000 ft. peaks to jungle canopy was what brought it all together....two worlds, one civilization, new friendships, and lots of fun. We'll be back!"
LOUIS C., SCOTTSDALE AZ
"One final note - over the four days, one couldn't help looking over at the other groups of trekkers, observing and even chatting with along the trail. From groups of 2 to what looked like other groups of 30+ people, I don't think I found any group that was as well looked after as our group. You can stop looking now - go ahead and book with Guiding Peru."
RICHARD C., ALBERTA CALGARY CANADA
DISCOVERER OF MACHU PICCHU
"In the variety of its charms and the power of its spell, I know of no other place in the world which can compare with it.”
Guiding Peru believes that being environmentally-conscious is a big part of being sustainable. But it’s not the only thing to consider as a company or destination can be “green” and still not be sustainable. When it comes to sustainability, our company takes into consideration and practices the following 3 components: environmental, economic, and sociology-cultural. We believe that in order for tourism to be truly considered “sustainable tourism” all three practices must be implemented.
B. CULTURAL IMPACT
Guiding Peru promotes Sociology-cultural sustainability in Peru by minimizing negative impacts on the regions and people we visit through promoting cultural exchange and preserving local traditions. This is achieved by including the local peoples in the tours we provide. By having the Andean community involved, we not only offer our guests a more genuine experience, but the local people see tourism positively as they take pride in sharing their cultures and traditions.
A. TOURISM IMPACT
Due to the high volume of tourism, the Cusco Region has the potential for damage to both the natural environment and the man-made environment (historic buildings and ruins). Our company and staffbelieve that by educating our guests to respect both, our goal in preserving this Region of Peru for generations to follow will be a reality.
