Our 6 Day Ausangate Trek with Rainbow Mountain route is considered one of the few treks in the world that gives our guests the opportunity to spot wild vicuñas in their natural habitat. First day: Cusco – Tinqui – Upis Hot Springs

Your first day of the Ausangate Trek with Rainbow Mountain tour starts when Guiding Peru’s indigenous English/Spanish speaking guide picks you up at your hotel lobby at 5:00 am. We then board our private van to drive to the small village of Tinqui (“Full Harmony”-4000m). During the drive, we pass by traditional mountain villages, located between the mountains, and observe the breathtaking scenery and panoramic views of the Andes. On arrival at the site, we meet our team of porters and horseman who will assist us over the next several days. We begin our walk through farming communities and enjoy the breathtaking views of the mountains. Then our trek begins with a 3-hour hike through farming communities where we will enjoy our first lunch spot. After having lunch and taking a short rest, we will continue for another 2 hours through traditional villages where people still maintain their ancient Inca customs. We will then pass by the ecological landscape of Quinsapucyu and the mountain, Huarmisaya, prior to arriving at the campsite of Upis. Before dinner, you will get the opportunity to soak in the mystical hot springs and settle into our tents for the night.

Second Day: Upis – Pukacocha Pass – Ananta

Your day starts with having coffee or tea and a delicious chef-prepared hot breakfast. We begin to trek the high pass of Arapa by climbing through the moss and lichen-covered broken rocks. After reaching the pass, we can see the Ausangate and the chain of mountains that are surrounding it and many condors that fill the skies. Here, we will take a break and rest before heading down to our lunch spot near Lake Pucacocha, a deep-blue glacier lake. After enjoying our delicious chef prepared meal we continue our hike a uphill over the second pass called Pucacocha pass then we will go downhill another 2 hours to our campsite called Ananta. Along the way we will have the opportunity to view different glacier peaks, rivers, small lakes and local farmers working in their fields and tending their herds of llama and alpaca.

Third Day: Ananta – Rainbow Mountain – Ausangate Cocha

Today’s highlight is Rainbow Mountain! Our team will wake you early at 5am with hot coca tea delivered to your tent, followed by our chef’s nourishing breakfast. We will then begin our day with today’s first uphill climb, until we reach Ananta pass, from where, you get the first views of Rainbow Mountain. Although close, we are not quite there yet! From Antana pass you will hike downhill circling a beautiful glacier lake then continuing through a Peruvian flat segment, until we reach the final uphill portion for today, climbing all the way up to the famous Rainbow Mountain. Once here, we will enjoy panoramic views of the spectacular colored landscape surrounding us, soaking in the vistas, enjoying the many photo opportunities. Hiking then back to last night’s campsite (Ananta), enjoying a late lunch and rest before proceeding to Ausangate lake, which is our campsite for this evening.

Fourth day: Lake Ausangate – Palomani Pass – Surapamapa

An early wake-up at 5:00 am with coca tea brought to your tent. Afterward, we pack up quickly, enjoy a hearty breakfast and begin hiking up to the highest point of the Ausangate trail of our trip called Palomani Pass. This will prove to be our treks hardest, but most beautiful ascents as when we reach the summit it offers an incredible 360° panorama of the entire region. As we cross the pass, we will be confronted with spectacular views of the southeast mountain range, including the peaks of Mariposa and Caracol. We will pass through landscapes of spectacular waterfalls, colorful lakes, swampy green pampas before arriving into our campsite for the evening. Today is a great day for spotting wildlife so your guide will remind you to keep an eye out for condors, and vicuñas.

Fifth day: Surapamapa – Qampa Pass – Pacchanta Hot Springs

Today will be another wonderful day as we will enjoy hiking around the deep, red and green glacier lakes. We will head northwest to the last pass of this hike, the Q’ampa pass (16400 feet). We will see several different colored lakes and lunch beside beautiful blue-green Lake Q’omercocha. As we reach Pacchanta, a small high-altitude herding village we will enjoy relaxing in the hot waters of the natural hot springs with the amazing vistas of Ausangate high above. Here our team will be waiting to greet us for our last night’s dinner, where together we will celebrate our success.

Fifth day: Sixth day: Pacchanta – Cusco

At 4:00am you will be picked up in a private van from your Cusco Hotel by one of our local Spanish/English speaking guides. Thereafter, you will enjoy 3 hours of driving through traditional villages with an astounding panorama of the Andes until arriving at the Quesiuno trail head. Here you’ll be offered a wholesome breakfast and hot beverages.

Following breakfast, your Rainbow Mountain Hiking Tours will begin from the Inkintuyoc Bridge, next to a stream, before hiking uphill for about 5 hours until you arrive at the popular Rainbow Mountain. As soon as you get to the peak of the mountain, you will view a variety of Andean wildlife including llamas and alpacas. In fact, this is the only place in Peru where wild Vicuñas and the Andean camel can be seen.

Hotel pick up will be at 4:00am, and our private transport will take drive you for 2 hours along a paved road to the south valley of Cusco. At Checacupe, we will drive for one more hour along a dirt road until Qesuini community, located at 4100m. Here is where we will have our breakfast prepared by our professional chef. After breakfast, we will meet our horsemen that will take the emergency horse all the way with us to the top of the mountain. Today’s hike is divided into 3 sections: the first part is about 35 minutes uphill, then we go for another 30 min of flat path until we reach the check point of the community organization of Vinicunca. This is where we pay the entrance fees and then continue for about 35 minutes until we see the amazing Ausangate mountain and Rainbow Mountain range. The last part, to the top, will be flat for 40 min and then the last half hour will be challenging uphill, to the top of Rainbow Mountain 5070m– 16224ft. After we reach the top, we will have about 40 minutes to enjoy and take pictures. The way down is along the same route that we took going up. We will hike for about 2 hours downhill, until the location of our lunch spot, where our chef will be preparing lunch, arriving between 1-2 pm. Once we finish eating, we will pack everything up and drive for about 1.30 hours to the location of our campsite, in the center of the Pomacanchi Valley, or well known as the Four Lakes Valley. We will camp near one of these lakes where you will get a fantastic scenery of the lakes in the highlands of Cusco. Dinner is prepared by our chef and you can spend some time enjoying the beautiful sky with a clear view of the Milky Way.

Second day: FOUR LAKES – PITUMARKA – WAQRAPUCARA – HUAYKE – CUSCO

Today wake up time is at 5:00am with hot coffee or coca tea in your tent, followed by breakfast, allowing some time to enjoy the scenery of the lakes. This new ecotourism and cultural circuit offers interesting attractions, at this altitude of 11520ft. There are four beautiful lagoons, with important flora, migratory birds and a diversity of fish. (Trout, Pejerrey (Atherine), Huitas, Ccarachis, Ch´iñis and Carps). Also on the way there are picturesque villages and historical places like the Casa del Mártir de la Revolution (House of the Revolution´s Martyr), Tupac Amaru II, and Sangarará´s Church. For about 1.30 hour, we will enjoy the lakes driving from Pampamarka and Tungasuka Lagoon, to bird watch at the Asnaqocha Lagoon, then Acopía Lagoon and ending in Pomacanchi Lagoon, the biggest and most important for the local people. After we enjoy a short visit to the lakes, we continue driving to the starting point of the next hike at Pitumarca community. The paved road ends at Pitumarca and we start taking a dirt road all the way up to the end, at an altitude of 14240ft which is the starting point of the hike. Before we start ,we will have our boxed breakfast of fruit, biscuits, juices and other cold drinks. During the trip, we will enjoy the incredible scenery of the area and a beautiful lagoon, which is where we will likely see the Vicuñas that are in danger of extinction. These birds can only be seen in isolated areas high in the mountains. The hike in the morning will last approximately two and a half hours along an up and down path enjoying 3 beautiful lakes until we reach Waqrapucara. Here we will get to see the majestic canyon of Apurimac River and the fascinating rock formation of Waqrapucara. From the top, we hike down and as we near Waqrapucara, we will be surrounded by peculiar wavy-shaped rocks. Until we arrive at Waqrapucara campsite we hike downhill along a gradual path, then we start to take the steps up to the main area of the archeological site located at 13280ft. This will be the location for eating our box lunch and exploring the area with our guide for about one hour and a half. We will then start hiking down for about 2.30 hours to the Apurimac River, along a magnificent panorama of curve-shaped mountains that dominates the landscape. The guide will take you to an area of paintings in caves made by the pre-Incan civilization “Canchis”, then we hike down until the community of Huayke where our private transport will be waiting for us to go back to Cusco. Driving time is about 3 hours until you reach your hotel in Cusco.

DAY 1: CUSCO – HUAYLLASCA – APACHETA – SANTA ELENA

Early in the morning our staff will pick you up from your hotel lobby to start our adventure. The journey by private van will be about 2.45 hours until we reach the starting point of the hike, located in a little community called Huayllasca (12704ft). Upon arriving, our chef will prepare a delicious breakfast and we will introduce you to all our staff: guide, cooks, horseman, and horses. After breakfast, we will begin hiking uphill for about 1 hour which is the challenging part of today. We will reach the summit of Mount Apachetas (13600ft). Here the guide will share with you some of the local traditions such as making a little gift for the mountains that will be our protector during our journey. We will then we go along a gradual path with amazing views of mountains, alpacas, llamas, vicuñas, and, if lucky, the amazing Condor. After the summit, we hike for about 3.30 hours along 3 beautiful lakes called Ccomercocha until Santa Elena Cocha which will be our first campsite. Lunch time today will be dependent on the speed of the group. We can choose to have lunch at one of the first lakes or wait until Santa Elena,the last lake, and stay for the rest of the afternoon and evening. Tonight is a lovely night to enjoy the Cusco sky, have dinner near the lake and go to sleep.

DAY 2: SANTA ELENA – ACOYARA – HUAMPO

Wake up time will be 5:30am. We will have a hearty breakfast and start to hike the longest day of the journey. The morning trail is nice and flat along the normal habitat of the vicuñas. We will hike for about four hours reaching a secluded spot for lunch. After lunch we will enjoy stunning scenery around the lakes. The first lake we will pass through is call Acoyara which is a completely black lake located over (12800ft) After 3 hours of hiking along an almost flat trail, we will rich our campsite located near one of the most beautiful lakes caledl Huampo (13440ft.). Tonight will be another cold night, and our staff will have hot drinks waiting for us , a nourishing dinner and bags of hot water for us to have in our sleeping bags.

DAY 3: HUAMPO – RAINBOW MOUNTAIN VINICUNCA – QUESIUNU – CUSCO

The third day will be another early start to beat the crowds at the famous Rainbow Mountain. Today we will hike for 2:40 hours to reach the top of Rainbow Mountain, elevation 16224 ft. The climb is mostly gradual, uphill, with some steepness in a couple of sections. This will be the hardest climb of the trek. At the top it is normally windy. We will spend about 40 min at the summit taking pictures and enjoying the views. We will begin our descent taking the other site of the mountain until reaching the starting point of the hikers doing the one day option. It is about 2 hours of descent until the little community called Quesiunu located at (13248ft). We will have lunch in Quesiunu and then take our private transport back to Cusco for approximately 3 hours, arriving to your hotel in Cusco about 4:00pm.

Tour Itinerary

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN CUSCO PERU

• Lodging: Hilton Garden Inn, Cusco
• Meals include: Welcome Reception

One of our representatives will meet & greet you at the Cusco airport and then you will be transferred via our private van to the four-star Hilton Garden Inn Hotel in Cusco. In the late afternoon, our guide will come to your hotel and take you on a walking tour to the beautiful Cusco Inca Museum and the historic San Blas Church. You will continue to the heights of the San Blas district to enjoy our evening welcome reception in a restaurant overlooking the city lights of Cusco, followed by a briefing of the upcoming itinerary by our guide

DAY 2: GUIDED CITY TOUR OF CUSCO AND SACSAYHUAMAN PARK

Our guide will pick you up in the hotel lobby at 8:00am and begin your deluxe city tour of Cusco. This morning you will enjoy walking through and discussing the most traditional and important streets of the city. You will begin in Cusco’s Plaza de Armas where your guide will describe the ancient Inca-built buildings and streets of the city visiting along the way Saint Christopher Church. Here you will have one of the best views of the city, prior to continuing the walk down to San Blas Incan urbanization. Next you will visit Cusco’s first church and enjoy one of South America’s finest pulpits, carved in cedar wood. After touring this sacred church you will continue, on foot, to the Temple of the Sun, Qoricancha. Upon entering this Temple you will observe the clash between Inca culture and Catholicism, and their variations in building techniques. From Qoricancha you will continue walking along some of the side streets of Cusco to the Main Cathedral, where your guide will describe it’s history and the Andean art within, including, the choir and the Andean last supper. Around noon, following this fascinating walking city tour we drive up to Quenko, The Temple of Fertility, where you will have a 30-minute private guided tour. In these amazing highlands is where we will have a delicious; chef prepared buffet picnic lunch with specialty drinks. This location is near an ancient Inca trail, on the grounds of a newly built mountain village school. Following our lunch we will start walking down an ancient Inca trail to the Sacsayhuaman Incan archaeological site for a 2-hour private tour, exploring the complete site. Once we finish our tour, we travel back by private van to your hotel in Cusco.

DAY 3: GUIDED SACRED VALLEY TOUR, CHINCHEROS, PISAC MARKET, MORAY-MARAS, OLLANTAYTAMBO

On day 3 you’ll enjoy a full-day tour of the Sacred Valley. Guiding Peru’s exclusive schedule makes this journey unique and totally different from the others. We start driving to Chincheros at 7am, famous for its weaving and spectacularly sited at high altitude. (3,800m) We will visit a weaving house and have a demonstration on dying and weaving techniques. You will have the opportunity to purchase quality wool items direct from those who make the products at a price much lower than the stores in Cusco. Next we will continue our drive through the Sacred Valley to the Incan Laboratory of Moray, an amazing place of experimentation of micro climates in the highlands, built in a shape of amphitheater. Continuing the tour for a few more minutes, we arrive in Maras Salt Pans, the main mine of salt production in Peru since the first civilizations in South America, and one of the most productive ones in the world. It provides pink salt and from here, you will get a great view of the area which looks like a moon landscape. After lunch we continue driving 1 hour 15 minutes to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival, your guide will tour you through Ollantaytambo for about 45 minutes explaining this City as the best example of an intact Inca village. It is charming with its waterways running through the quaint streets of the town. You will explore the archaeological site, having some free time to take pictures and to explore the town. Following this wonderful tour, we continue driving back to Cusco stopping in at the village of Pisac, where you will have some free time to wonder and shop at the local market, famous for its traditional goods and street foods. Lastly we will arrive back into Cusco to your hotel for 6pm.

DAY 4: Hiking Tour of Rainbow Mountain

On day 4 you will be picked up from your hotel at 430am to enjoy Guiding Peru’s Rainbow Mountain Hiking Tour. Today our guide will lead you deep into these spectacular painted hills. Also known as Vinicunca, Rainbow Mountain Peru is an unexplored land filled with snow-covered glaciated peaks, wildly desert landscapes, herds of alpaca, and immaculate beauty. This social media wonder will surely provide the desired photos and experience that will bring back many memories as you hike through this spectacular region. You will enjoy a stop at a local restaurant to enjoy a breakfast on the way to Rainbow Mountain and a lunch following your successful climb of Rainbow prior to your 430pm return to your Cusco hotel.

DAY 5: INCA TRAIL TREK: CUSCO – OLLANTAYTAMBO TO KM 82 – LLACTAPALA – WAYLLABAMBA

With an early morning pickup from your Cusco hotel we will begin with a drive to Ollantaytambo, where you’ll have a brief stop to shop for those last minute items required for the trail, enjoy a cup of coffee or re-organize all those last-minute necessities before we begin the hike. You will then be driven to Km 82, the starting point for the Inca Trail. Here you’ll meet our team of professional chefs and porters as they arrange our gear for the upcoming 3-days of hiking on the popular Inca Trail. The initial two hours of trekking are considered easy, as you will see the first Inca site, Patallacta, that was a magnificent regulatory point of the Sacred Valley. Near Patallacta you will enjoy a delicious lunch. We continue trekking along the valley created by the Kusichaca River, gradually climbing for about 4 hours until we reach the community of Wayllabamba (3000m/9840ft), where we set our first camp. Your chef-prepared dinner will be around 7:00 pm and, following that, our guide will explain the next day’s itinerary and answer questions regarding today’s Inca sites that you visited along the way.

DAY 6: INCA TRAIL TREK: WAYLLABAMBA – DEAD WOMAN’S PASS – CHAQUIRICOCHA

• Distance: 17km
• Time: 8 hours/difficult

Today after an early morning wake-up and tent service of hot tea or coffee, followed by a nourishing breakfast, we begin the most difficult and longest part of the trek, which consists of a steep ascent that stretches for 9 km. Along this climb, the landscape changes from sierra to puna, a dry and high area with little vegetation. On the way to the first mountain pass, the Abra Warmihuañusca (Dead Woman´s Pass – 4200m/13776ft), the highest elevation of the trail, we will take a break at a local village to enjoy a cold drink. Then continuing our hike through Pacaymayu Valley. From the peak you hike another 1 hour to our lunch site where our faithful porters will have our dining camp arranged and our expert chef will have an exceptional lunch waiting for you. Following the appetizing lunch we start hiking once more to the 2nd pass of the day, Runcu Raccay, enjoying the best viewpoint of the gorge. Half-way up we stop to visit the archaeological complex with the same name. This site (3800m/12464ft), consists of a small oval structure that is believed to have served the purpose of a watchtower. We then descend to Sayacmarca where we’ll relish the best sunset of the tour. This is a beautiful complex made up of a semicircular construction, enclosures at different levels, narrow streets, liturgical fountains, patios and irrigation canals. Lastly, we’ll have a short hike to our 2nd campground of Chaquicocha. After a superb dinner & rejuvenating drink you can enjoy a sleep and view the beauty of the Milky Way from the comforts of your tent set high in the Andes of Peru.

DAY 7: INCA TRAIL TREK: CHAQUICCOCHA – WIÑAYWAYNA

• Time: 6 hours/moderate

Following your morning chef-prepared breakfast, we’ll trek for 1.25 hours to the 3rd pass of the Inca Trail. As we hike, you’ll have the chance to witness the sacred and royal Salcantay Mountain, the 2nd highest snow-covered mountain in the province. After observing this fascinating site we’ll reach Phuyupatamarka, the 3rd pass, where you will enjoy the fabulous views of the Urubamba River, Urubamba Mountain range, Machu Picchu Mountain and the archeological site of Phuyupatamarca. This is one of the most complete and best-preserved archaeological complexes along the Inca Trail, and is located on the highest point of a mountain. From above, one can observe the sacred complex made up of water fountains with solid foundations It will be a 3 hour trek from Phuyupatamarka to our final campground of Wiñay Wayna. After Machu Picchu, this is the most exceptional Inca site on the trail. In the afternoon, you’ll have ample time to to discover several Inca sites apart from the stunning Wiñay Wayna. Tonight you will enjoy a magnificent dinner presentation and then it will be early to bed as the next morning will be a very early start, insuring we are at the Sungate to enjoy the views of the Citadel before the crowds arrive later in the day.

DAY 8: INCA TRAIL TREK: WINAYWAYNA TO MACHU PICCHU TO CUSCO

• Meals: Breakfast, Snack bag, celebration lunch
• Maximum altitude: 2700 m
• Distance: 4km
• Time: 2 hours/easy
• Lodging: Hilton Garden Inn, Cusco

You will be woken up early today, about 4:00 am, when our porter will serve you a freshly prepared cup of hot coca tea or coffee as you pack your bag for the final day on the beautiful Inca Trail.Shortly after, you’ll get into the final checkpoint & trek to the Sun Gate to enjoy the 1st spectacular sight of Machu Picchu. We then descend to the fortress of Machu Picchu while gazing at the panoramas of this stunning valley. Later in the morning, we’ll arrive at Machu Picchu City, from where our two hour private guided tour will start through the most important and exceptional parts of the complex. Following the tour you will have ample time to self-explore the citadel or perhaps take the option to hike the mountain “Huaynapicchu”. After your time in Machu Picchu, the bus will bring you down to Aguas Calientes town where you will enjoy a celebration lunch, before catching the afternoon train back to Ollantaytambo. As soon as you arrive in Ollantaytambo, our driver will be waiting in our private van to drive you back to your hotel in Cusco.

DAY 9: LAKE TITICACA TOUR – CUSCO – TIPON – RACCHI – PUNO

Our team will pick you up in a private van at 7am from your Cusco Hotel to begin your drive to Puno. Along the way to Lake Titicaca you will stop to visit and tour with our guide many interesting sites. Our first stop will be at the Tipon Archaeological complex. Here survives an intact Inca ritual garden with soothing water features. Following our guided tour you will stop near a stunning lake where you will enjoy a buffet lunch at one of the local restaurants. Then we will continue the drive to the Racchi Inca ruins which was in Inca times a religious site and a resting place for weary travelers. Along the way to Puno is La Raya, the border between the Regions of Cusco and Puno, where the most traditional animals of Peru can be seen, such as llamas and alpacas. Our driver will stop and allow plenty of time for some amazing photos. By 6pm we will arrive in Puno where we will take you to your hotel. Here you will have the evening to enjoy on your own, wandering the streets and enjoying dinner on your own at one of the many restaurants

DAY 10: PUNO – UROS ISLANDS – TAQUILE ISLAND

After breakfast at your hotel, our guide will pick you up and take you to the Port of Puno. From there you will have a 30-minute boat ride, enjoying the fantastic views of the lake crossing to the floating Uros islands. The locals will welcome and show you their island and the products they weave, describing the construction of their island. From here you will take a 2.5-hour scenic boat ride, touring the lake before arriving to Taquile Island, mid-afternoon. Our guide will introduce you to the local families who are willing to share their homes with you for the evening. After a late lunch with the family, we will hike for one hour up to the island mountain, which is located at 13,000ft above sea level. Here you will have plenty of time to rest while enjoying an amazing view of the sun setting over the lake. You will hike back to the village for a group dinner and then you will have the opportunity to dress in traditional island clothes, provided by the locals, and go to the local square to meet and dance with the village children.

DAY 11: TAQUILE ISLAND – AMANTANI ISLAND – PUNO

• Accommodation: Casa Andina Hotel, Puno
• Meals: Breakfast, lunch and snacks

You will have an early breakfast with your local family then take the boat for one hour to arrive at Amantani Island. The inhabitants here still live according to their ancestral traditions and dress with brightly colored traditional clothing. They are also famous for the magnificent weavings that the men spend many days completing. We will have some time to learn about ancestral farming techniques and experience using a few of the ancient Inca tools. Lunchtime will be in a typical restaurant with beautiful lake views, prior to taking the boat back to Puno and your hotel.

DAY 12: PUNO – COLCA CANYON – YANQUE

After an enjoyable breakfast at the Puno hotel you will begin the transport to Colca Canyon in our private vehicle. Today you will enjoy the spectacular views as we drive to the best viewpoint for the amazing viewing opportunity of the mighty Andean condor. Peru’s Colca Canyon is not only the second-deepest canyon in the world, but is also considered the best destination in South America for watching Andean Condors. Along today’s route you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and then continue through the Colca Canyon with many more photo opportunities of the deep canyon gorges and valleys. As time allows you may wish to stop in to relax in one of the Canyon’s thermal baths. We will end today’s tour in Yanque, where you will enjoy your stay in the rustic lodge of Killawasi. Tonight’s meal will be at the lodge, with incredible views of the surrounding scenery of the Colca Canyon.

DAY 13: YANQUE – AREQUIPA

This morning we will depart Yanque and begin our 3.5 hour drive to Arequipa. Along the way we will enjoy stopping at a few scenic points for more views of the spectacular canyon we are driving through. Colca Canyon has amazing natural landscapes surrounded by Andean terraces which are still used today by the local farmers to cultivate potatoes, maizes, and other crops in the mountain slopes. Once we arrive in Arequipa we will enjoy lunch and then check into our hotel. In the afternoon you will enjoy a guided walking tour through the main square of Arequipa where our guide will explain the importance of the historical sites. Arguably the most grandiose plaza in Peru, Arequipa’s central square is certain to impress. Set among palm trees, surrounded by stunning colonial churches, the Plaza de Armas is the heart of Arequipa and the perfect vantage point to appreciate why it is known as the “White City”. This evening will be free for you to enjoy as you prepare for tomorrow’s departure home.

DAY 14: Good Bye Peru – Arequipa Airport Departure

TOUR PLANNING

This tour spends a great deal of time at high elevations, and you can expect to hike for at least 7 to 8 hours per day. Guiding Peru advises that you train for at least 2 months prior to your tour so that you can experience it to the fullest. The government of Peru issues 500 permits for the Inca Trail each day, and everyone, including the team at Guiding Peru, must have a permit to explore the area. Booking this trek at least 6 months in advance is recommended so that you may have a guaranteed tour date. Note: 4-Day Inca Trek daily itinerary is subject to change based on government issued campsites on date of booking.

• Original passport (should passport change post booking bring both) • Original ISIC international student card if applicable. • Backpack with rain-cover to carry your personal items • Comfortable trekking boots with good ankle support • Warm clothes, layers for variable temperatures • Thermal underwear for cold conditions • Gloves or mittens, wool socks, beanie for cold conditions • T-shirts and trekking pants that zip off to short pants for comfort • Personal medications, insect repellant • Flashlight or headlamp and extra batteries • Camera • Binoculars • Sun hat, Sunscreen, and sunglasses • Rain jacket/pants or high quality rain poncho • Personal Toiletries, toilet paper, small towel, moist towelettes • Two 1 litre water bottled or 2 litre water reservoir • Bathing suit for the hot springs in Aguas Calientes • Extra money for drinks & tips, souvenirs etc in soles.
